Your employer starts the screening
Your program provider registers in the Clearinghouse under the Department of Elder Affairs and starts the screening there. It prints a Livescan Request Form with your ORI. Bring that form to your appointment.
You’ll also sign an attestation of compliance for your employer’s records.
At your appointment
Bring a valid photo ID and your Livescan Request Form. We capture your fingerprints and a photo for the Clearinghouse.
After your appointment
The Department’s Background Screening Unit reviews the results and posts your eligibility in the Clearinghouse for your employer.
Volunteers who help occasionally, less than 20 hours a month, may not need screening. Your program will tell you.
